Garry’s Anchorage

Garry’s Anchorage was ours alone for an entire day. Splendid isolation! You can see by the photograph that I took on day 1 that Peter celebrated our arrival in the tradition of sailors the world over, with a rum as he enjoyed the last of the sunshine.

Our sole occupancy of Garry’s anchorage ended the next day with the arrival of two more yachts and a Fairway 36. Being the first yacht to arrive we had the pick of places to anchor and with the spring tide approaching we were glad to find a hole that was 3m at LAT. Others were not quite as fortunate. As you can see, one late arrival ended up high and dry while they slept!
