Gone Fishin’ Episode 2…Deception Creek

After successfully negotiating The Narrows we anchored at Deception Creek, sharing it only with dolphins, turtles, pelicans and of course fish. With no evidence of any human activity we stayed there for two days. Peter ‘wet a line’ (I think that I have the jargon almost right), again using bait prawns. Just as he was thinking about giving up for the day the rod began to dance and we knew immediately that there was something at the end of the line. It turned out to be a shark of about .75m; a beautiful creature. At the top of the tide the next day Peter caught whiting which we enjoyed about an hour later fried in butter, with lemon juice and dill. Yummy!
